RAF-2000GTX - GYROPLANE
Contact
Rich,

MY RAF 2000GTX was damaged when I got sideways during
landing and tipped over and spun around which caused some fiberglass damage
and of course the rotor and prop are not useable. The basic kit was around
$25k and with the options and add-on’s I have over $30k into the bird, I
need to clear $10k. To restore the bird back to a flying machine should take
about $10k in parts. So for less than the basic kit you should have a flying
machine.
The EJ2.2L Subaru Legacy CTI engine with (less than 50 Hr) has a timing
problem and I believe it is the timing belt which I haven’t had time to look
at yet, the engine has a GTX SE carburetor W/carb-heat and throttle lock,
twin ignition and dual fuel pumps. I have installed a Microair 760
transceiver radio and put in a set up for also using a hand held radio.
There is an Air Command horizontal stabilizer with winglets on the plane and
Soma Aviation Inc. main landing gear up grade but I still have the factory
landing gear if needed. Some of the options on the bird are dual flight
controls, pre-rotator, rotor brake and instrument package. The cabin has STD
seat/fuel tank with seat cover and carpeting, the doors will allow cold
weather flying along with the cabin heater. The options for lighting include
landing lights, running lights and red and white strobe lights. Parts I
already have from the factory is an upper mast assembly, front wheel pin and
control arms. As you can see the bird is pretty well equipped and it would
not take much to get it in the air. |
